WIRE โ€” Ruger Rapper Gwamba popularly known as Landlord said on Tuesday he was 100 percent set to host the Landlord Pakwao concert at Bingu Stadium in Lilongwe featuring Nigerian star Ruger next month. This follows his partnership with FDH Bank Plc and Ekhaya Group whose seal of pact was made in Blantyre. "With what FDH Bank Plc has done to support us as well as Ekhaya Group, I can rightly say that everything is now sorted and we are good to go with the concert," the award winning artist, said. Looking relaxed, the 'Ndiyima Pachulu' and 'Alole' star described the partnership as bigger and that "it is a strong vote of confidence in the vision we are building". "Music is a business, and it thrives when the corporate world joins hands with the creative industry. We cannot do it alone, we need support," Gwamba said. He called upon people to come in large numbers and fill up Bingu Stadium and make history. "Ruger is the artist of the moment who needs no introduction. This is a concert to have the much needed entertainment," the rapper said. FDH Bank Plc and Ekhaya Group as official financial and food and beverage sponsors respectively could not come out clear on the sponsorship given to Gwamba through Landlord Entertainment. However, it is believed that the two have supported in bringing Ruger in the country where he is expected to share the stage with Gwamba and other local acts including Zeze Kingston, Miracle Chinga, Saint Realest, Kell Kay, Eli Njuchi, Joe Ikon, Lady Aika and Teddy Makadi. FDH Financial Holdings Marketing Manager Sheila Kanjo said the bank is committed to support the creative industry in the country hence joining to support the Landlord Pakwao concert. "We will deliver secure, convenient and seamless digital payment solutions to patrons during the event while Ekhaya Group will be selling food and beverages," Kanjo said. Ruger has said in a video that he was ready to perform live in the country for the first time. "What's up Malawi, see you on August 1 2026 in Lilongwe, get your tickets and let us go crazy, I will be playing live," he said. The Nigerian singer, songwriter and performing artist, born Michael Adebayo Olayinka, rose to fame with the release of his song 'Bounce', which led him to sign a recording deal with Jonzing World in 2021.
