WIRE โ€” Jamaican musician Busy Signal dates Malawi for the fourth time in August this year. While his past outings include stints at Sand Music Festival, this time around, the 'Rise Again' and 'Free Up Black People' creator comes for charity works. The musician will be in the country from August 12 to 16, 2026 courtesy of Wendy Harawa Foundation and Busy Global Initiative. Musician Wendy Harawa who leads Wendy Harawa Foundation wrote on her social media page on Tuesday that Busy Signal is coming for a charity mission where he is expected to among others, donate various items. "This charity mission is all about school supply drives as well as feeding and impacting knowledge to the next generation," Wendy said. Asked whether Busy Signal will also have concerts within his time in the country, Wendy, who has also initiated the Jamaican musicians' previous visits, said this trip was all about charity works. "Through this charity mission, he is giving back to Malawi and the world. But as his host, we will be open to partnerships as regards the betterment of the nation," she said. Wendy said that they would be glad to work with the government and the corporate world through this charity drive as part of corporate social responsibility. The artist, who has fallen in love with Malawi, was not readily available for his comment as we went to press yesterday. Busy Signal made his first major appearance at Sand Music Festival courtesy of Impakt Events in 2015 where he was the headliner and delivered a two and half hour non-stop electric live set. The 'Dreams of Brighter Days' and 'Come Over' star then returned by public demand performing at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe the following year. Apart from Busy Signal, some of the Jamaican artists that have performed in the country include Burning Spear, Luciano, Kenyatta Hill and Morgan Heritage.
