WIRE โ Musicians John Fire and Annemarie Quinn have performed together at several concerts in Malawi and on Saturday they shared the stage once again at the Blues Rock Festival in United Kingdom. Having stayed in Malawi for years where she used to teach music at Jacaranda School for Orphans in Blantyre, Annemarie returned to United Kingdom but she still has love for the Warm Heart of Africa. With that love, the singer and guitarist continues to help in raising funds hence taking another step to perform at Blues Rock with John Fire, who is now based in United Kingdom. The two who are also part of Mangolongondo Night reunited to star at the festival whose proceeds will go towards charity supporting Building Malawi and Rotary. Annemarie who worked with several local artists to create her album titled Blue Sky Thinking, said Thursday she was happy to perform for Malawi to raise funds. "Malawi deserves more, it is such a beautiful country with beautiful people but there are challenges and so, we had to play to raise funds to support various programmes," she said. Annemarie also savored her performance with John Fire rekindling memories of their several acts in Malawi. Apart from collaborating in the track 'Kalulu', the two also had solo performances. "It is always vibes sharing the stage with Annemarie and our performances warmed for the 62nd Independence Day celebration," John Fire said. As we went to press Thursday, Annemarie said they were yet to hear the amount which had been raised from the organisers.
