WIRE โ The National Football Coaches Association of Malawi (NFCA) has officially welcomed FCB Nyasa Big Bullets coach Wedson Nyirenda into the local football ecosystem. NFCA officials, led by chairperson Aubrey Nankhuni, paid a courtesy visit to the veteran Zambian coach at Bullets' offices on Monday, formally introducing him to the domestic game. Nankhuni said Nyirenda's arrival is a major boost for the growth of Malawian football rather than just a gain for the club. He added that welcoming experienced foreign coaches is a long-standing tradition aimed at building cross-border cooperation. "When you look at Coach Nyirenda's CV, it is clear that he brings a wealth of knowledge. His presence presents a unique opportunity. "We look forward to engaging him on technical matters to help develop our local coaches and strengthen the national game," Nankhuni said. Nyirenda expressed gratitude for the reception, saying it made him feel valued. While his immediate mandate is to harmonise the Bullets' football structure from the senior team to the reserves, women's side and youth academies, he also pledged support to Malawian football at large. "Beyond that, I want to make myself available to the association whenever my experience is needed. "Whether it is coaching courses, clinics or other technical programmes, I will always be ready to share my knowledge and contribute to the continued development of football in Malawi," Nyirenda said. He joined Bullets in June on a two-year deal, arriving with over two decades of coaching experience across Southern Africa. He has guided the team to three wins in the FDH Bank Premiership, beating Kamuzu Barracks 2-1, Masters Security 1-0 and Creck Sporting Club. Bullets are currently second with 19 points, behind leaders Blue Eagles on goal difference.
