WIRE — Explore the Colosseum by night with guided tours in English, Italian and Spanish. Rome's Colosseum opens for night visits, with guided tours held every Tuesday and Thursday night from 14 July until the end of September.   The ancient amphitheatre will open from 20.00 until 23.00, with last entry at 21.50, as part of the Una notte al Colosseo initiative.   The tours, which last about an hour, are available in Italian, English and Spanish. The itinerary takes visitors on a tour of the first order of the monument, the arena floor and the underground areas that once housed gladiators and wild animals before combat.   The tour, enlivened by multimedia projections, includes a visit to the new permanent exhibition in the underground area, focusing on the protagonists of the spectacles with holographic projections, educational videos, original exhibits and reconstructions of ancient armour.   Tours are designed for groups of up to 25 people, with tickets costing €50 (Full Experience ticket €24 + guided tour €26) or reduced rate of €28 for certain categories, and free for children under the age of six.   Reservation is required, with tickets available seven days before the scheduled date of the visit, via the official Colosseum website. Photo Wanted in Rome
